"Service of Mankind"
St John Ambulance Brigade has a long history dated back to 1877. In Singapore, the Brigade is established in 1935 as an effort to produce first aiders serving the general public. When World War II came to Malaya, the Brigade sprang into action performing many magnificent acts of bravery and heroism amidst the shelling and bombings of the invading Japanese Army. Today, the Brigade still retains its longstanding tradition of “Service of Mankind”. In line with this tradition, the PRCS SJAB Corps is made up of dedicated cadets ready to serve the public when in need. Cadets tirelessly learn and upgrade their first aid knowledge and skills. Female cadets will be further trained in nursing skills while male cadets will learn casualty transportation. Cadets are then assigned to go for Public Duties in both school and external events. Outstanding cadets will be groomed to be potential leaders.
